OUr STORY
Our Founder & CEO, Miona Short is a trailblazer. Not only is she the first Black woman to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a degree in astrophysics, but she is also the inventor of the Carefree Comb.
Born out of both love and frustration, intense sadness and deep joy, the Carefree Comb has represented a journey of self-discovery and self-belief for Miona. Even with no formal engineering or business background, Miona was steadfast in her hunch that her bright idea would fill a glaring need in haircare. The first-time CEO never had any intentions of becoming an entrepreneur, but she's thrilled to be here and bring a larger vision to life.
